Generative AI has rocked the world. The potential is for machines to reason, and in doing so drive intelligence to bridge between bits and atoms. Unlock the potential for us to understand, simulate and ultimately manipulate the physical world like never before. The market opportunity is enormous.
Four of the top ten supercomputers in the world are managed by the US Department of Energy. Energy and AI have a complex relationship, at the center of which is big improvement in innovation and efficiency. The Power Couple is a double edged sword. Big challenge, big opportunity.
Big challenges remain. There is much to solve before we can bridge from idea to impact. Advancement inevitably takes time, and things never play out as expected. Investment and focus will be required, but for now, the long-term potential seems without bounds. And inevitably, change breeds opportunity.
